My installation failed with this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare curpageurl() (previously declared in /wp-content/themes/magazine-basic/widgets/widget_login.php:48) in /wp-content/plugins/find-me-on/find-me-on.php on line 127

Looks like it conflicts with my theme?

Robert Z November 16, 2009 at 6:59 am

After installing the Find Me On plugin, my site becomes all black, except for the footer. Before getting the plugin to work, I had to disable another plugin due to a fatal error. When I disable the plugin, the site is fine. Has anyone had this experience before?

TB November 16, 2009 at 11:28 am

How about adding Deviantart to the list?

philip November 16, 2009 at 4:08 pm

One more to add: http://www.ohloh.net/

Seems to display fine but I get the following java error in my IE8 tray:

Is there a fix for the issue Mike alluded to earlier?

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare curpageurl()

Jeremy Anticouni November 17, 2009 at 8:17 pm

@Mike @Christopher — I just committed v.2.0.8 to resolve the redeclare error you were receiving, please install and let me know if it solved the issue for you.

Jeremy

Jeremy Anticouni November 17, 2009 at 8:17 pm

@Robert Z — Try the latest version, 2.0.8. If still having the issue, please email me a link to your blog so I can look at what’s causing the conflict.

Jeremy Anticouni November 17, 2009 at 8:27 pm

@B.SkiLLs — From the look of your screenshot, the css isn’t being loaded. See if you can access the following file on your site:

http://*your site*.com/wp-content/plugins/find-me-on/css/admin-style.css

B.SkiLLs November 17, 2009 at 11:08 pm

Yes i can access it. straight to the path or in the admin edit plugin section. You did notice my other issue above that.. that was the main issue as well right ??

I just updated to your new version “automatic update” as well.

What could be the issue on both problems here ??

Any and help help is much appreciated.

Greetings, I wanted to send you a message to let you know first off that I love your plugin, and it works great!

I also wanted to ask on behalf of the music community if you could kindly add these 3 sites.

http://soundcloud.com/
http://virb.com
http://reverbnation.com

Also, I wanted to ask if you could enlighten me as to how I’d go about changing what appears when each icon is hovered over.

Many thanks in advance!

Mike November 18, 2009 at 2:10 pm

Jeremy,

2.0.8 solves my install problem. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks!

Nancy November 19, 2009 at 6:59 am

This Wordpress plugin in **awesome**, but I think the Googlewave Icon doesn’t look like the Googlewave image that’s commonly associated with it. Is there a way to update the image to look something like this –> http://jacobyap.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/google_wave_logo.jpg with just a white background?

TB November 19, 2009 at 7:20 am

Jeremy,

My Facebook link keeps putting my blog url in front of the Facebook url. Can you check that out. I’m not sure what’s going on.

TB

swider8814 November 19, 2009 at 7:31 am

Please add this sites too (most of this are polish sites)

http://www.tangle.com/
http://www.allegro.pl/
http://nasza-klasa.pl/
http://blip.pl/

If I can help you with this please send me mail (profile links etc)

Jeremy Anticouni November 19, 2009 at 10:23 am

@TB: Make sure you’re adding the entire url, including http://. For example, a Facebook profile would be: http://facebook.com/myprofile not facebook.com/myprofile

Jeremy Anticouni November 19, 2009 at 10:23 am

@Nancy — Agreed, I’ll update that icon.

Caroline November 20, 2009 at 8:20 pm

Hi Jeremy – great plug-in! I was installing this plug in to run in my sidebar; however, the display is taking up a ton of space. I am only on two social networking sites currently, so I was wondering if there was a way to conform the layout to shrink or expand based on the number of icons one has. The current version is shifting everything downard in my sidebar, so I had to temporarily remove it from my site.

Thanks for any help you can provide – I tried the most recent version. I notice it works perfectly on your site here, so I am hopeful you can provide some insight into what might be happening.

Thanks!
Caroline

James NomadRip November 21, 2009 at 1:31 pm

This is a very nice-looking plugin. I am going to give it a try.

Thanks for the good stuff!

Jeremy Anticouni November 21, 2009 at 4:03 pm

@Caroline — Sounds like some CSS is conflicting on your site. Can you please enable the plugin so I can take a look at what it’s doing?

Tony November 21, 2009 at 4:17 pm

What’s the license of this? GPL? MIT? Creative Commons?

I’d like to use those icons in a GPL Project…

Tony November 21, 2009 at 4:18 pm

Oh, and by the way, this plugin is stupendous. Great work. :)

I love the sorting/delete drag n’ drop especially. Nice touch.

Jeremy Anticouni November 21, 2009 at 4:30 pm

@Tony — It’s GPL, but hang on a day or two… I’ve recreated every icon from scratch at 256px and will be releasing them as a standalone download. Here are a couple samples:

Plurk Icon 256px twitter icon 256px utterli icon 256px reverbnation icon 256px

Dominic Green November 21, 2009 at 6:30 pm

Hi guys,

Would be great to see the includion of StackOverflow in this gadget for all the geeks and coders out there. :)

Thanks

Liam November 21, 2009 at 6:43 pm

Terrific plugin. Is their any way to call this into a page instead of using widgets?

Ken Wiesner November 21, 2009 at 10:44 pm

This is a great plugin! Any chance of adding a button for Skype Chat / Skype Call?

Jeremy Anticouni November 22, 2009 at 1:41 am

@Dominic Green @Ken Wiesner:
I’ll add stackoverflow and skype in the next version.

Jeremy Anticouni November 22, 2009 at 1:43 am

@Liam: enable the plugin and then drop the following in the spot you want it:
< ?php echo generatefindmeonInnerHTML()?>

Chris November 22, 2009 at 2:36 am

Hey man, I think I’m having a slight problem, too. You’ll be the man to ask. :)

Find Me On looks fine in Firefox, but in Safari and Internet Explorer is has overlapped somewhat. It’s worse on IE as it’s causing widgets on my right sidebar to conflict with each other. Example, my latest photos have joined my latest music. IE also gives me the ‘Done, but with errors on page.’ message in the browser. I’m not an expert at all, but like you said to Caroline, could it be a CSS conflict? Here’s the log.

Webpage error details

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; Embedded Web Browser from: http://bsalsa.com/; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; InfoPath.2; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; OfficeLiveConnector.1.4; OfficeLivePatch.1.3; eMusic DLM/4)

Christian November 22, 2009 at 1:33 pm

hey,
thx for your great plugin.
but I’ve some problems, since I activated it. So the admin jquery pull out menu doesn’t work anymore, also my site doesn’t show the content :(
do you have any relutions?

thanks

Jeremy Anticouni November 22, 2009 at 3:11 pm

@Chris @Christian: I’ve got a new build that I’d like to have you install before I roll it out to everyone, will you please take a few moments to install and test to see if it resolves your issues?

Download Find Me On 2.0.9.1

Liam November 22, 2009 at 4:01 pm

Thankyou Jeremy.
I can also confirm. That jquery stopped working, Cforms II lost it’s admin float panel. I will try the new version 2.0.9.1 and see how that workds.

Liam November 22, 2009 at 5:02 pm

I can confirm that I am not having any more issues with jquery. It’s seems to be running perfectly in a widget. No issues with cforms. Thank you so much Jeremy. This is going to be an essential plugin.

I have one more question. Can it be called into a post?

Layla November 22, 2009 at 6:24 pm

Can you add BlogTalk Radio in your next release please.

Jeremy Anticouni November 22, 2009 at 9:04 pm

@Layla: Added.

blogtalkradio

Chris November 23, 2009 at 2:13 am

Hey, man. No problem. I installed it. I no longer get the ‘Done, but with errors on page.’ in Internet Explorer. But my menu is still messed up, the same goes for Safari. Firefox is still okay, though.

Regards,

Chris

Wei November 24, 2009 at 6:27 pm

Please add:

FourSquare
Flixster
Loopt

Also, I’m not sure if you have the iPhone but Google Wave (the website) has a nice icon dedicated for the Apple iPhone. http://wave.google.com/apple-touch-icon.png

Micon November 25, 2009 at 7:02 am

How about adding Slideshare and Scribd?

Forkboy November 25, 2009 at 8:14 pm

Jeremy, THANKS for this widgit, it was just what I was looking for in a straight forward “link to” social networks, but I’m making a website for a tattoo shop and have multiple artists and was wondering if there is a way to list it for separate individuals on the same wordpress install?

FitzZZ November 26, 2009 at 10:13 am

Great, 2.0.9.1 seems to have fixed all issues for me! Thanks a lot!

Caroline November 28, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Hi Jeremy – I have reactivated the widget on my Wordpress blog. As you can see, it leaves a lot of space after the icons as it’s bumped my Google Ads down quite a bit. Let me know what you think and if you can help me fix. Thanks.

Jennifer November 29, 2009 at 2:31 am

Awesome plugin…we need more easy, sleek designs like this for WP~!

I also wanted to see a skype icon as well as an email icon (to take the reader directly to contact form). When you say the skype button is ready, when can we expect to see it available?

Also, any chance of adding multiple widgets so we can include this in more than one sidebar page? Thanks for the great work :)

badassdadblog November 29, 2009 at 5:15 pm

Would love to see dailymile.com added.

badassdadblog November 29, 2009 at 5:17 pm

Oh, and blip.fm!

Shilo Case November 30, 2009 at 9:14 am

For some reason my widgets are not working so I can add the “Find Me On” plugin. Is there a simple PHP code I can just drop into the side bar page where I want it?

Thanks,

Shilo

Michael Chancey November 30, 2009 at 2:59 pm

I was wondering if you would be able to add two other sites I frequently use to your plugin. http://deviantart.com and http://www.stumbleupon.com/home/ other then that I like your plugin a lot. Its nice to replace a text link with a nice graphic.

Geoff November 30, 2009 at 3:18 pm

How about iTunes Store? It’d be great to have Find Me On iTunes Store alongside YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, etc.

Aleksandra November 30, 2009 at 3:29 pm

I liked your plugin. I have been looking for one I like 4EVER!!! I added you to my blogroll too.

thanks for sharing the goodness =)
